Congratulations Hanging Basket & Container Competition Winners 2015!
The 2015 Hanging Basket & Container Competition winners and runners-up were announced in-store today, Saturday 29th August.
Entries were judged via a combination of public votes and panel consultation, headed by Andrew Tokely of Kings Seeds.
This year’s winner – who wins the top prize and the coveted winner’s shield – was David Cole. Unfortunately David was unavailable to collect his prize in person, but you can see his fabulous winning entry pictured right, along with the shield, Andrew and Bypass Nurseries’ competition organiser, Ronnie McReadie.
Second prize was won by Michael Hayward.
Third prize was awarded to Hillary Townsend.
Also highly commended were Monique Simmons and Lorraine Harrison.
Andrew said, “It hasn’t been an easy year for baskets and containers as there have been some challenging conditions with a cold, rainy Spring and some unseasonal windy weather. The standard of entries in this competition is extremely high, it wasn’t easy to pick a winner but David’s glorious mixed basket was a real triumph.”
