Nutritious Bone Meal!

Date

Whether you’re planting bare-root or potted plants, you’ll want to make sure that your plants get the best start in their new locations, and using bone meal is a great way to help your plants along.

A great organic fertilizer, bone meal is a good source of phosphorus which helps primarily with root growth, but it’s also beneficial for flowers grown from bulbs, corms and tubers.  The calcium it contains helps with cell and seed formation, strengthens stems and encourages new shoots in perennial and shrubs, and it can also help prevent blossom end rot in tomatoes and other vegetables.

It has the added benefit of lasting in the soil for several years, so doesn’t require continual application – which makes it cost effective too!
